Best of Amazon Athleisure
When it comes to Athleisure (the trend of wearing athletic clothes in everyday outfits), one name stands above the rest: Lululemon. There’s plenty of reasons why the athletic brand is at the top right now…the clothes are a bit of a status symbol, and they’re renowned for lasting years and years. The company even has a performance promise guarantee to ensure that customers love their gear. With all the upsides of the brand, the downside is…the price tag. Although they’re awesome for staples like black leggings, they will set you back $50-$60 for a tank top, and even more for the pants and skirts. I don’t know about you, but that adds up really quick. If you are saving for college and getting ready to move out on your own, you are likely wanting to choose more frugal styles as well. The good news is, Amazon has become famous for having plenty of “dupes” that you can hardly tell aren’t the real thing. Although they may not withstand the test of time, they will get you through a few seasons:
Tennis skirt: Pleated tennis skirts are all the rage right now, and they’re finding their way into wardrobes on and off the courts. A lululemon skirt will be approximately $78-100 per skirt, and an Amazon dupe will be closer to $20. That’s a much better price point for bright colors and prints that you may not have though to try before. These skirts are so popular because they have attached shorts and pockets, which is perfect for stashing your phone and keys. Our favorite: This pretty pleated version.
Belt Bag: This bag is famous for lots of reasons, but mostly because it is hands-free! You can easily stow a small wallet, keys, and phone in it, and do things like hiking and biking with it worn across your body. It’s been sold out on Lululemon for months now, but Amazon has dozens of very similar bags for much less money. This $18 dupe is fabulous and looks virtually the same from far away. Plus, it comes in dozens of colors and you can buy one to match every outfit!
Our favorite: This inexpensive grey version.
Jogger pants: The Align joggers from Lululemon range from $98 to $130, and come in tons of different colors. Instead, the Dragon fit style joggers look identical and are closer to $25. The only downside to choosing a jogger on Amazon is that the lengths are not as customizable (Lulu offers multiple lengths and styles for petites and 7/8 hemlines). If you are someone who typically can wear standard sizes like S, M, L, etc, they will work for you.
Our favorite: These dark purple jogger pants.
For many of us, athleisure outfits are something we reach for almost every day! By choosing some dupes for these items, you can save a little bit and still look just as stylish!
