Graduation 2017
Here we are again, another year later: Graduation! What a privilege it was to photograph so many wonderful individuals. I remember my own graduation day (you know, just a few years ago…wink, wink), and how momentous of an occasion it was. After twelve years of hard work, discipline, and all the drama that comes from high school, I was definitely ready to graduate! I sympathize and am so excited for all these graduates in 2017. They are moving from one milestone to the next, and are some of the most hardworking people I’ve met. Some are going to university to study biology, some for philosophy, others for marketing, and still others for psychology. Some are working through college, and others have received scholarships to attend college. Among all the diversity and walks of life, one thing is clear: all people are passionate people.
Harriet Tubman wrote of passion: “Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.” She hit it right on the nail. The graduating class of 2017 are the next world-changers! Everyone I worked with on their senior photos displayed a zeal for their future. They are dreamers, working through diligence and passion to bring their dreams out of the stars and into reality. I love to hear about all the different passions my clients have, and try to work that into their senior photos. It’s a fantastic challenge and dream-come-true for myself to work to highlight and promote these world-changers as they step out of one challenge into the next. If they are anything like how they were when I met them, they’re definitely up to the challenge!
