Living Healthy and Happy for 2018!

Well, it’s February, and your healthy eating and lifestyle goals may have lost some steam since you made those resolutions in January. But today, we are going to be sharing ways to live healthier and breathe a little easier as we get further into the year.

  1. Stop ‘dieting’, and commit to eating lots of real food! Crash diets can really mess up your metabolism, but sticking to whole foods can make a true difference in your overall health. It can help your skin clear up, improve your thinking and clarity, and yes, even help you shed a few pounds. Whole foods don’t have to be boring either. We love this website My Whole Food Life for all it’s fabulous recipes!
  2. Drink more water! Did you know you can get these handy water bottles from Etsy that show you how much you’ve drank during a day? They come in plenty of cute designs, and are a clever way to keep track of your water intake. We love this one especially!
  3. Try an essential oil diffuser necklace: You may think it sounds a bit of a homeopathic myth, but diffuser necklaces have been shown to improve things like mood and digestion. You can add any essential oil like lavender, lemon, or frankincense to wear around town and also look stylish. Our favorite diffuser necklaces are on Etsy from this shop, and are super stylish (made of lava stones).
  4. Get some snazzy new sneakers or workout gear to motivate you to get moving: Sometimes a cute new outfit can get you wanting to exercise more…when you look great, you feel great! We like these simple, high-waisted leggings from Aerie, that are under $20! You can pair these with a tunic length sweatshirt for a look that can go from the gym to brunch with your friends!

Here’s to a healthy new year! Stay tuned to the blog for all of our tips for high school seniors and their parents!
