Begin Preparing for Your Senior Photos Now

As you prepare for your senior photos, there are a few things that you can do right now, months or weeks before your session happens. These things will help you look polished and put together before your senior photography session, and can reflect in photos that look confident. Many seniors forget the little grooming tips, or they neglect their skin or haircare before their shoot, but it really does make a significant difference! Here are our best tips for your senior shoot:

Prep your hairstyling: To prepare your hair for a senior photoshoot, visit your hairstylist a week or two in advance for a fresh trim or style that suits you best. Stick to a hairstyle you’re comfortable with to avoid surprises. Prioritize hair health by using a deep conditioning treatment to add shine and reduce frizz. If you color your hair, touch up your roots for a consistent and vibrant look in the photos.

Clean and trim your nails: For flawless nails in your senior photos, treat yourself to a professional manicure and pedicure or do it yourself. Opt for a neutral or complementary nail color. Ensure your nails are clean, well-groomed, and free from chips. Be cautious with your nails in the days leading up to the photoshoot to avoid damage.

Amp up your skincare routine: Achieve a radiant complexion by maintaining a proper skincare routine with cleansing, moisturizing, and sun protection. Hydrate your skin by drinking plenty of water. Exfoliate a day or two before the photoshoot to remove dead skin cells gently. Protect your skin from the sun with SPF 30 or higher sunscreen. Avoid trying new skincare products right before the shoot to prevent potential reactions.

Make sleep a priority to look well-rested: Prioritize a good night’s sleep in the days leading up to your photoshoot. Aim for 7-8 hours of quality sleep to ensure you wake up refreshed and with minimized under-eye bags. A well-rested appearance will make a significant difference in how you look and feel on the day of the shoot.
