Earrings for your Face Shape

Earrings and accessories are one of the main ways you can make your outfit look more polished. Adding just a pair of earrings can elevate a plain tee and jeans to a true outfit. When you are planning your senior session, you want everything to look complete and finished, and earrings are a perfect way to achieve that look. Here are some of my best tips for choosing the right earring shape for your face shape:

  • Oval faces: The shape of your face most resembles an oval. It means the line from your forehead is in line with your cheekbones, and that your face might narrow slightly to your chin. The best earrings for your face shape are teardrops, pearls, or oval shaped stones. This is a very versatile face shape, that can handle most any earring style.
  • Round faces: Your face is more circular, with wider cheekbones. Round faces should aim to choose long, lengthening earrings like dangling strands or drop style earrings. These will give you a longer appearance, and create more symmetry in your facial lines.
  • Heart faces: Your face is wider at the forehead section, with a narrower chin. It gives you a natural, soft and triangular appearance. People with heart shaped faces should look for earrings that help balance out their angles, by choosing things with teardrop shapes.
  • Square faces: The width of your jaw, cheekbones, and forehead are all in line with each other. People with square shaped faces look beautiful with earrings that have lots of shapes like circles, or teardrops. This helps balance out a more angular face with some softer shapes.

If you’re looking for great places to purchase earrings, check out Amazon and Forever 21. They are not precious metals (and you’ll need to beware if you have sensitive ears), but they are very affordable and you can select a large number of options without breaking the bank!
