Best places to find Warm Weather Outfits
Although it doesn’t get as cold here as some parts of the country, we are still heading into some cooler temperatures, and I wanted to share some stylish and cute items for your senior session in the winter months. I have found that with winter items, I want quality and warmth, so they need to be functional and cute…sometimes, that’s a tall order. I love a great deal, so I’ve rounded up some perfect pieces below:
- Sherpa jackets: These are super popular right now, and my favorite ones are from Abercrombie and Fitch. I recommend sizing down if you are petite, so that you don’t look like you are overwhelmed by the size and bulkiness of the coat. Remember to pair it with a balanced pair of pants with a slimmer cut and a higher waist so that your legs have a nice long line with a bigger coat.
- I also love shopping J Crew’s outlet store JCrew Factory because it has amazing prices on high quality coats and sweaters. I recommend their City Coat for a flattering, elegant coat for dressier occasions, and it would look amazing for a senior shoot. Size down, as it runs rather large on most body types. They run awesome promos and referral codes, so you can usually find a good coupon or two.
- Forever 21: they’re not known for having quality staples, but occasionally, you can luck out. I have found that their blazers and jackets are well-made and they last quite a while with the proper washing/laying flat to dry. I steer clear of their denim, knit sweaters, and anything stretchy, because it tends to shrink up really badly, or look pretty cheaply made. I also like their jewelry for things like statement pieces that you don’t need to last more than one season….they make a fun impression without a big price tag.
- Madewell: My favorite for nicer denim, blouses, and tees. Their items tend to be more quality than a Target tee shirt, and they fit so well. They also offer a wide range of sizes, from petite to extended sizing, so everyone can find their size..I love that their product images include women of all shapes and heights, so that you can see how things will look on you. They offer sales from time to time, but you’ll definitely be paying more in the $50-$100 range per piece. I recommend them for jeans, and their beloved leather bags!
