Battling the Heat in Summer Senior Photos
Hey there! I’m Janice, and as a senior photographer, I know how important it is to capture stunning photos, even when the summer heat is in full swing. Over the years, I’ve picked up some great tips to help everyone stay cool and comfortable during those hot outdoor sessions.
One of my favorite tricks is scheduling our shoots early in the morning or late in the afternoon. Not only are these times cooler, but the light is also gorgeous and golden, perfect for flattering portraits without the harsh midday sun.
Finding the right location is key too. I always scout for spots with plenty of shade, like parks with big trees or areas with structures that cast lovely shadows. Shade keeps us cooler and avoids squinting and harsh shadows in the photos. Plus, I always bring a small portable fan and lots of water to keep us hydrated and refreshed.
When it comes to what to wear, I recommend light, breathable fabrics and avoiding dark colors that soak up heat. Comfortable, loose-fitting clothes look great in photos and help keep everyone cool. Hats and sunglasses can be fun accessories that add a stylish touch while protecting from the sun.
Lastly, we make sure to take breaks! Short rests in the shade or an air-conditioned spot can really help. It’s all about listening to our bodies and not pushing too hard when it’s super hot. A relaxed approach ensures everyone has fun and we get those beautiful, memorable photos.
By following these tips, we can beat the heat and create amazing senior portraits that capture the joy and excitement of this special time. Let’s stay cool and comfortable, and focus on making lasting memories through beautiful photography! Got questions about the summer photo process? Just reach out and ask!
