Stay organized: As a high school senior, you’ll have a lot to manage, including college applications, scholarship deadlines, and senior projects. Staying organized is crucial to ensure that you meet all your deadlines and manage your time effectively. Consider using a planner or online tools to track your assignments and deadlines. We recommend one that is color coded and easy to visually see and make changes to.

Maintain a schedule that allows time for tun: While it’s important to focus on your academics, it’s equally important to make time for extracurricular activities, hobbies, and socializing. A balanced schedule can help you manage stress, improve your mental health, and make the most of your high school experience. Make time for your loved ones and friends and family, because their support will matter in the years to come.

Begin to research colleges that are right for you: If you’re planning to attend college after high school, start researching colleges if you haven’t already. Many students have decided on one by spring, but others still need to make their top choices. Look for colleges that offer programs that align with your interests and career goals, and consider factors such as location, campus culture, and cost. Attend college fairs, meet with college representatives, and take campus tours to help you make an informed decision and get a feel for the campus.

Prepare for the SAT/ACT: Many colleges require standardized test scores, such as the SAT or ACT, as part of their application process. Take the time to prepare for these exams, whether it’s through self-study, tutoring, or test prep courses. Consider taking the exams multiple times to improve your scores.

Seek out a mentor: Don’t be afraid to ask for help and guidance from your teachers, counselors, and parents. They can provide valuable advice on college applications, career paths, and other important decisions. Additionally, consider reaching out to alumni from your school or professionals in your field of interest to learn more about different career paths and opportunities. If you know someone who has attended the college you’re interested in, their insight can be incredibly valuable!

Most of all, don’t forget to savor this time of your life. You won’t get it back, and even though it feels stressful, it will hold memories you will treasure forever.
