Bringing in Pieces of Your Personality to Your Senior Session
Every senior longs for their session to show who they are. Whether it’s their hopes and dreams or the person they have become, capturing that is often the top priority for seniors I work with. Here are some ways to bring in personal touches to your senior shoot, and help set your photos stand out:
- Bring a jewelry memento: Meaningful jewelry is a great way to personalize your shoot, and there are many possibilities to make this happen. Charm bracelets are popular and some seniors have been collecting charms for many years. Earrings are another great choices, especially if you own heirloom style earrings from grandparents or family members. Lastly, there are some seniors who like to honor loved ones who have passed, and they wear jewelry to honor their memory.
- Bring your prom dress: Your prom dress can be something that can sit unused in a closet, or you can include it in your images and capture what a special item it is. I love when seniors bring their prom dresses and get to wear them more than just once. Let me know if you’re thinking you want to include yours, and we can dream up some awesome locations.
- Bring your college gear: Getting into the college of your dreams is a big accomplishment, and it’s always awesome to bring along college gear to document the special season of life. Bring a hoodie, tee, or a pennant to celebrate, or even a ball cap for a more subtle touch. We recommend using the Fanatics website to find the best college gear, or your college website. Let’s celebrate this big milestone!
- Bring your musical instrument or favorite book. Of course, sports equipment is a very popular choice, but bringing your trumpet, violin, etc., or your well-worn copy of Harry Potter is a really fun way to bring in something that you love. It’s also a little more unique and can create more of a theme. If you play a larger instrument like piano or cello, we can brainstorm about ways to incorporate it.
