Best New Tech Products for College Students

When you’re prepping for your college life, you may want to update some of your tech gadgets. Knowing what you may or may not need can help you guide your purchasing and also your budget! We know college is expensive, and that you only want to buy things you’ll truly utilize, especially because your space is likely going to be fairly limited too. Here are our favorite picks:

high school senior photography, senior pictures, senior portraits, model team, high school senior photographer, luxury senior pictures

-The Echo Show from Amazon: This little powerhouse is amazing and for under $100, you simply cannot beat it. It can serve as a television (it streams Hulu and Amazon Prime), and can be your alarm clock, news updates, and even order things off Amazon for you. If your family members also have one, you can video call them on it very easily, and “drop in” via the phone/video services. The screen is small, but nice to put up next to your laptop if you’re binging your favorite show, and it works well to use for things like cooking or looking up recipes as well.

-Zyllion back and neck massager: This is more of a luxury product, but with so many of us looking down at our phones or our laptop, we can easily get strained back or neck muscles. This small, portable massager can really help overworked muscles and prevent injuries while you’re away from home.

-Coway Airmega 150 HEPA Air Purifier: A small air purifier can be a lifesaver when you’re living in a dorm room. Be sure to ask your roommate if the noise will bother them, but this one is pretty quiet. It can help with allergies, musty smells, or just general dormitory life smells like food, etc. It’s not cheap, but it will really help your small space stay fresh and pleasant while you’re in a dorm.

-Thumb Drive: You can buy any brand, but look for one with a huge storage capacity, and a flip-style cover. It will protect it from liquid and dust and will be convenient if you need to move files to a printer or another computer for any classes. You may consider buying a few, not just one, and keep them in your school backpack and car, just to be safe. Don’t forget to not put personal items on them, such as bank statements or your social security #, in case it got lost or stolen.

-Lifeproof Case for iPhone: We love lifeproof cases because, well, they really are lifeproof. No matter the drops, kicks, scratches, or accidents your phone goes through, this case is amazing and will protect it. They’re under $50, and well worth it to protect your expensive smartphone. It’s also available for the Samsung galaxy, and comes in multiple colors, which makes it cute and durable.
