Hopelands Gardens: What a stunning spot! Hopeland Gardens has loads of walking trails and greenery, making it perfect for a picnic with friends or a lovely, calming walk. There is also a horse museum, if that is something you are interested in. One thing that is really nice about these gardens is that there is no fee for parking or entrance, which makes it affordable, too! Lastly, it’s nice if you have little ones, because even in the hottest months, you will be able to find plenty of shade.

Boyd Park Pond: Another spot that has views that are truly breathtaking. I love the little pond areas in this park, and the canoe areas are perfect. It also has a ton of mountain bike trails that you can take, that range from easy to difficult. I highly recommend it for a day trip with a family or friends, since there is places where you can play basketball or have a grassy picnic.

Hitchcock Woods: This is more of a wooded area, but it’s just as beautiful. If you’re into hiking, this area is amazing. People love it for the hiking, as well as the horseback riding trails. For photos, there is beautiful light, and lots of pathways that are easy to access. There is quite a bit of sand, so prepare for that, and sometimes parking can be crowded.

Carolina Bay Nature Preserve: Although this is a more simple pond type spot, it has lovely views, plenty of places to sit and rest, and is very relaxing to walk around. There are lots of trails to walk for beginners and advanced hikers, and one that goes all the way around the water. This is a very relaxed spot that’s easy to get to, and good for a short visit or photoshoot. What is extra sweet about this spot is the wildlife, which includes lots of ducks. You can spot many different animals here, and it makes for a fun sightseeing expedition.

If any of these places sounds great to you, please reach out to me so we can schedule your shoot!
