Put together the Perfect Thanksgiving Outfit

If you’re gathering with family or friends (hello, friendsgiving), you may be wondering what to wear. You want something comfortable but also stylish enough for the inevitable photos, but not too dressy to pitch in for the cooking! Well, fear not, because we have a handy guide to putting together the perfect outfit for your turkey day festivities. Let’s get started.

-First, you’ll want the base. Start with something comfortable like a cami, and well fitted undergarments. Layers are always smart for those tricky temperatures. Decide if you want to wear jeans or a skirt/dress. If you’re wearing a dress or skirt, consider adding leggings or tights under so you can move around easily. If you’re wearing jeans, opt for something with a little bit of stretch so you can be comfortable all day!

-Second, add something stylish: Of course, you will want to show off your personality. This is the time to pick a great top to go with your jeans, or a simple dress that you can wear and feel great in. We like a tee shirt dress like this one, with black tights or leggings, or a very cute blouse like this one with dark skinny jeans. If you’re somewhere with very cold weather, consider a plain long sleeve blouse that you can add another layer over in the next step!

-Next, add an outer layer. This is where you can add a pretty cardigan like this one from Old Navy, or a long vest style top. This adds interest to your outfit, but also will keep you warm and cozy! Layers are not just practical but also cute, and if you stick with an all neutral palette, they are a way to look very polished and pretty at the same time.

-Lastly, add the accessories: A great pair of ankle boots and some pretty earrings are really all you need, but don’t be afraid to add something like a blanket scarf for the drive to and fro your destination, or a simple leather clutch to really pull it all together. Don’t forget your hair… brush it with a little argan oil to make it shine, or lightly curl it with a curling wand for a picture perfect look that will last all the way to the pumpkin pie!

The perfect thanksgiving outfit isn’t too much of a puzzle! It’s all about the accessories and building from the bottom up. Enjoy your time with friends and family!
