Styled Session | Janice Freeland Photography | Georgia Photographer
I absolutely love the parachute dress! A parachute dress has a really neat history; something you may not know. In WWII, when fabric and supplies were scarce, parachute silk became prized for things like wedding dresses and blouses. Clothes were rationed during this time, and parachutes became beloved as well as practical. These days, we have more clothes available to us than we know what to do with, but the parachute hasn’t lost it’s charm. It offers billowy drama, plenty of fabric for lots and lots of movement, and comes in tons of pretty hues for different looks. This styled session features a beautiful, flowing red parachute dress, attached to a brighter fuchsia piece.
You might have seen them from other photographers, but we really styled this one a little differently. We wanted a more moody, dreamy scene, and this dramatic dress was just perfect. Our model rocked it, and I loved the addition of her dress draped across the branch..simply stunning. If you’re interested in adding a parachute dress to your sessions, please let me know! I’d love to dream up the perfect setting and styling just for you.
