Make Me Up Mondays | How To Apply Foundation In The Right Way

Whether you’re a celebrity or just a regular girl, we all have had times when we needed to cover up a breakout, or smooth out a sunburn or skin tone. It’s never easy to figure out how to cover up a blemish without caking on the foundation or liquid foundation, but we have an awesome tutorial today on how to cover up without added weight and losing your natural look. Here’s some of the tips from the video, but view the whole thing below:

-First, use a primer as a base to smooth everything out and prepare it for your application.

-Use mineral foundation: Use one that matches your skintone and apply all over, especially on problematic areas. Buff it into your skin using a brush as shown. The mineral foundation covers blemishes without adding “texture” which makes skin look cakey.

-Layer on a liquid foundation like Makeup Forever HD. It works well to really improve your skin and gives you two layers of coverage with a lighter look. Again, you don’t have added texture, only coverage, which is the goal. You can find Makeup Forever on Amazon and at Sephora.

We hadn’t thought of using mineral makeup and regular foundation as a solution, versus heavier, traditional cover-up, which can leave you with uneven spots and thick looking areas. This results is perfect! Stay tuned here to the blog for more Make Me Up Mondays, where we show you the best in makeup tips!
