What 2 Wear Wednesdays | Prom 2016
It’s prom season!!! I cannot believe it, but it’s here already. I love swooning over all the new prom dresses, and every year they seem to get prettier and more elaborate! This year’s trends are really fun and eclectic…there is a little bit of something for everyone. First up, we love the big floral trend. On a glam ballgown, huge florals looks modern and fresh, and are perfect for the girly-girl who wants a something a bit more unique than a solid color ballgown. I’ve even seen girls pair them with sneakers for a really funky and fashion forward look. We love this one in particular, with the classic pairing of black and pink. We also are seeing lots of two-piece dresses! This is a relatively new trend that has found it’s way to prom styles. The crop stylings aren’t for everyone, but they can be really classy and tasteful when paired with the right proportions (i.e.: a long, full skirt with a slim, cropped top)…we like this set, with it’s modern take on old hollywood glam. Illusion styles are also being widely seen, and they can be really slimming and flattering on girls of many heights and body types. They are also dramatic and perfect for the fashionista, like this illusion dress with daring sheer sides. Simply Dresses is where we found a ton of great dresses, but if you’re looking for a more affordable option, try Macy’s and Forever 21 too..they have a surprisingly good variety of styles and price points if you’re on a tighter budget.
